Q: What is brushed moleskin, and is it any good for tailoring?

A: Despite the slightly rogue name, no small woodland creatures were involved. Moleskin is a densely woven cotton fabric with a short sheared pile, brushed for an ultra-soft, almost suede-like handle. Think of it as velvet's tougher, more practical cousin.

Is it good for suits? Very. Especially when the temperature drops. Moleskin is weighty, wind-resistant, durable and drapes beautifully, giving tailoring a matte finish and a quieter kind of confidence.

Men's Forest Green Brushed Moleskin Pleated Tailored Trousers

Features: Men's moleskin pleated trousers in forest green, cut from a dense brushed cotton with a soft handle. Featuring double-pleated trousers at the front and side waist adjusters. The brushed moleskin trousers fabric is weighty and durable, giving a matte finish that wears in rather than out. Finished with slanted side pockets and rear button welt pockets, they move easily from smart tailoring to something closer to formal trousers territory. Pair with the matching blazer for the full look, or wear these forest-green trousers on their own with a white tee for everyday wear.
